Now British Embassy Jakarta is opening Position for:

Driver / Supervisor

As an Embassy transport supervisor you will be responsible to manage day-to-day management of Embassy transport fleet. You will come into contact with senior officials and dignitaries and be a highly visible part of the Embassy Team.

Job Responsibilities/Description
  • Day to day management of Embassy Transport Fleet.
  • Hold Imprest for small transport costs and manage petrol coupons.
  • Manage in house garage.
  • Liaise with vehicle servicing and repair suppliers including Toyota and BMW.
  • Manage Drivers on a day to day basis
  • Drive as pool driver to help the driver schedule when needed.
  • Prism buyer
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience as a driver and 1 year experience as transport supervisor
  • Have a good knowledge of the Jakarta road system
  • Good communication skills in English and Indonesian (mainly oral, but written skills desirable)
  • IT skills and experience (M/S Office) desirable
  • Hold a clean B1 Indonesian Driving License
  • This job can be physically demanding so the applicant should be in good health.
Salary

The British Embassy is looking to fill the position of Consular Assistant in its Honorary Consulate in Bali to start work during the month of May 2011. This is a key front-line position in the British Consular team in Indonesia. 

Position :CONSULAR ASSISTANT (BALI)

(CLOSING DATE 15 April 2011)

Over 160,000 British tourists visit Bali every year on holiday. There is also an increasing number of British people who decide to settle permanently in Bali. Some of these British nationals in Bali encounter a wide range of difficulties including theft, loss of travel documents, arrest, financial problems, business disputes, child custody problems, serious illness and even death. 

This is a challenging and interesting position in a busy Consular office. Previous consular experience is not essential but you will be expected to absorb and enforce best practice quickly. Training will be provided.Candidates should have a strong track record in public service delivery. A general understanding of legal issues, office accounting and other resource-related skills would also be useful. More generally, the job requires good self-management and time management skills; good networking skills: the candidate will be expected to maintain excellent working relationships with the local Balinese authorities (Immigration, Police, Prison, Hospitals, Undertakers, etc.) as well as work closely with other diplomatic missions in times of crisis. It is essential that the successful candidate is self-confident, persuasive and articulate. Although the British Embassy promotes a healthy work-life balance, consular staff are often called on after hours to deal with emergencies and the successful candidate therefore needs to be a reliable and flexible person.

The Consular Assistant will need to answer public enquiries on the full range of consular services. In addition, the jobholder will be responsible for managing the accounts of the Honorary Consulate and submitting monthly returns to the Consulate-General in Jakarta.

Basic Requirements:
  • Excellent spoken and written English (IELTS level 6.5 or equivalent)
  • Typing speed at least 30 WPM.
  • Expertise in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and databases
  • Experience in office administration and accounts is essential.
  • Good people and communication skills.
We will be offering a competitive package starting from IDR 5,292,308 depending on experience.

To handle all administration and ensure the smooth running of the department under the supervision of the Sales Supervisor.

Direct Responsibilities:
  • The Sales Administration attendant performs her duties within the framework defined by the chain and hotel norms and by international regulations as specified by the Sales Supervisor.
  • Assist the Sales Supervisor in organizing the filing system of the Division / Department / Section.
  • Ensure that the stock of stationery items are accounted for and well maintained.
  • Organize the recording system for all in coming and out going correspondences as well as incoming telephone calls.
